The day I arrived in LA to model, I said I wanted to be in magazines. I wanted to see my pictures on that layout in between the pages. I wanted that much effort to be put into my shoots. The location, the wardrobe, the makeup- I love it all. When I was signed to my first mainstream modeling agency in high school, they were very honest with me that I would never be a runway model.
Most people have no idea that I am only 5’2″. I actually haven’t grown much since middle school, height wise. I’ve always been short, I’ll always be short and I’ve come to terms with it. Runway was immediately crossed off the list of things that I could pursue but print modeling and acting was really suggested to me instead. At that time, I felt like I was compromising by agreeing to do print and acting.
Oh, I was wrong. They were right. Later on in life, I realized that all adults were right and that I was wrong about basically everything as a teenager. These mainstream agents actually sent me in the right direction. I started taking improve classes and competing in modeling and acting competitions in NYC & LA. It was tons of fun in high school, When it was recommended to me that I do print modeling, I never expected to be in the following magazines. I consider myself extremely lucky.
I can’t wait to add to this list now that I am back to modeling. I feel like I have a world of opportunity these days. I have more to add to this list because it goes back to 2005! Come back often to see if there are any changes to this list!
